Rakt Talai is situated in the valley of Aravalli hills, this is the historic site where a fierce battle was fought on 18th June 1576 CE between Maharana Pratap and Mughal Emperor Akbar. It is said that, in the short span of a few hours, the blood of more than thousand warriors consecrated on the field of action that stretched all the way from Badashahi Bagh, below the narrow Haldighati to what has since been known Rakta Talai , the field of bloodshed. The twin cenotaphs that stand just outside the village commemorate the exploits of Raja Ram Saha of Gwalior and his three sons who became martyrs.
